Q. WHAT SORT OF PROBLEMS ARE SEEN IN THE CLINIC?
A. All types of sports injuries.

The aim is to make an accurate diagnosis so that the correct treatment can begin as soon as possible. Fewer than 8% of patients seen require referral for surgical opinions. A detailed assessment to find the underlying cause of the injury is essential. This is particularly important for recurrent injuries where the underlying cause of the injury in often not at the site of the symptoms but is elsewhere in the kinetic chain.

Common underlying causes include:
• Abnormal alignment
• Muscle imbalance
• Poor technique
• Changes in training intensity/frequency
• Incorrect footwear/equipment

Q. IS THE CLINIC JUST FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE ATHLETES?
A. No.

The principles used to treat elite competitive athletes can be employed to allow the enthusiastic amateur to return to their chosen sport or exercise as soon as possible.

Q. DOES THE CLINIC DEAL WITH OTHER SPORTS RELATED MEDICAL PROBLEMS?
A. Yes.

Sports Physicians are trained in the non musculoskeletal aspects of sports medicine.

Common examples include:
•    Unexplained underperformance or overtraining syndrome.
•    Return to activity or competition following illness.
•    Evaluation of recovery from concussion.
